Minimum Qualifications
- United States Citizen
- 21 Years Old (by Academy Graduation)
- High School Diploma / GED
- Valid AZ Driver’s License
- No Felony Convictions or Patterns of Criminal Conduct

Competitive Officer Pay
$34.57 – $48.66 Hourly
$71,905.60 – $101,212.80 Annually
Paid Police Academy Training
In Arizona, recruits are paid while attending the 22-week police academy. Gilbert PD offers the full starting officer rate of $34.57 per hour during training.
All uniforms and gear are provided at no cost.

Physical Agility Test
Minimum Required:
- Sit Ups: 36 (within 1 minute)
- Push Ups: 20 (untimed)
- 1.5 Mile Run: 15:48 minutes

Out of State Applicant Information
Out of state applicants should anticipate traveling to Arizona during the hiring process (excluding initial physical fitness test).
After passing the online written test via the National Testing Network and physical fitness test, a background investigator will contact you to schedule remaining in-person tests.
